  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (any kind)
  • 1 large egg

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
  2. Make the Donut Batter:
    • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should be smooth but thick.
  3. Fill the Donut Pan:
    • Spoon the batter into a piping bag or a plastic zip-top bag with the corner cut off. Pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
    • If you don’t have a piping bag, you can also carefully spoon the batter into the pan.
  4. Bake the Donuts:
    • Bake the donuts in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Make the Chocolate Glaze:
    • In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips, butter, and corn syrup together, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
    • Alternatively, you can microwave the chocolate, butter, and corn syrup in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted.
  6. Glaze the Donuts:
    • Once the donuts have cooled, dip the tops of each donut into the chocolate glaze. Gently shake off any excess glaze.
    • If desired, immediately add sprinkles while the glaze is still wet.
  7. Serve:
    • Let the glaze set for a few minutes, then enjoy! These donuts are best eaten fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
